Ballet Beautiful in Japan

Hello, Ballet Beauties,

Today, I want to introduce a little about my hometown, Hakodate city, in Hokkaido, Japan.

After a long-held three years, finally, I could comfortably visit my family and friends. This trip was exceptional, and I'm super thankful that we could reconnect, filling the time we missed…

As most people know, Japan has five main islands. Hokkaido is the Northernmost prefecture, which is Japan's send largest island. Hokkaido is known for high-quality fresh seafood, not just limited to Uni (sea urchin) or Scallops. As a result, Hokkaido is one of the popular destinations for a domestic getaway. My home city is at the southern tip of Hokkaido. The town is best known for its highly acclaimed dramatic night view from Mount Hakodate and delicious fresh seafood.

Kanamori Bay Area

Hakodate was Japan's first city to open a port to foreign trade in 1859. After opening the port of Hakodate, the city absorbed various countries' cultures. As a result, many western influenced architecture in the area called Motomachi.

Hakodate Meiji-kan: It was built as the Hakodate post office in 1911. One of my old ballet studio was based inside of this building. By the time I was ten years old. I spent weekend classes here at Meiji-kan.

Also, there is a Goryoukaku Fort in the center of Hakodate. This Goryoukaku is designed in a beautiful star shape. You can experience spectacular cherry blossoms at this park or the Goryoukaku tower.

I hope you have enjoyed getting to know my home and following my Ballet Beautiful journey.
